I just got back from the Outdoor Writers Association of America’s annual conference held in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

It was a fun-filled three days with some of the best writers and photographers in the field. At the conference, I was awarded third place in the Excellence in Craft competition for my photo Canoeing with Kids, featuring my then 11 year old son paddling in Congaree National Park.

Chattanooga was recently named the first National Park City in the United States, meaning it blends nature in its urban environment. The city was beautiful and tucked at the base of the surrounding mountains which were almost always in view. Outdoor activities are plentiful in and around Chattanooga and include biking, canoeing or kayaking, hiking, and spelunking to name a few. Two Dog Outdoors can’t wait to take a future trip here with our kids in tow. ~ Corey
